NAYAH reveals her most vulnerable side on the ballad ‘lifeline’

Where NAYAH’s earlier singles have shown attitude and playfulness, lifeline presents her with a rare and disarming honesty. The lyrics revolve around the feeling of being trapped in bad decisions and self-criticism, but also the relief that comes with admitting you can’t always stand strong on your own.

“Behind the façade, my new single is about feeling lonely and insecure, and not daring to reach out,” says NAYAH. “The chorus describes the moment when you finally admit that you need that special person to be your lifeline. Love can be what keeps you grounded when you might otherwise drift away.”

Vast yet vulnerable
‘lifeline’ was written on an autumn evening at a farmhouse on the island of Møn, with nothing but a keyboard. Musically, it unfolds in a cinematic universe, where the atmospheric soundscape – created in collaboration with producers Sebastian Owens and Marcus Elkjer (Svea S, Bifald) – meets an honest and intimate vocal. The result is both grand and beautiful, yet fragile at the same time – a balance that underscores the song’s vulnerable theme.

About NAYAH
Since her debut, NAYAH has been known for her R&B-inspired pop and her ability to write songs that balance attitude with emotion. In 2015, her single ‘Bad Bitches’ was selected as “Track of the Week” on Danish national radio P3, and Denmark’s leading music magazine GAFFA hailed her as “a shooting star.” Since then, she has landed on New Music Friday Denmark with every release, and in 2021 she reinvented herself as an artist writing and performing in English. Most recently, she has released all my friends are growing up and catch my love, both of which gained attention in Denmark and abroad.
