In a time when men are often reduced to a problem in public debate, Danish artist REXEN explores masculinity, responsibility and love on the album ‘The Chauffeur’ which is out everywhere today! A self-declared feminist and outspoken critic of toxic masculinity, he also turns his attention to what he perceives as “toxic feminism” and a simplified, polarised gender struggle.
Recorded in an organic, intimate sonic setting at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios with collaborators including John Parish (PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse), the album marks a conscious break with the ‘fast food music’ REXEN sees dominating parts of the music industry – music designed for speed rather than depth.
