With the singles ‘Same Tree’ and ‘Silverspoon’, the duo have already picked up airplay on Danish national radio and introduced a sound that balances the mechanical and the human. On the album, they take this further, creating a cohesive work where each track feels like its own cinematic narrative.
The focus track ‘Danger’ explores the pull towards risk and loss of control – an intense tension between desire, power and release. Sonically, it draws on trip-hop pioneers like Massive Attack, while maintaining a contemporary electronic edge.
Behind Fake Mannequin are Amy Horn and Tor Laurens, working at the intersection of trip-hop, synthpop and dark electronic pop. On ‘Composed Reality’, they paint a portrait of people caught between façade and authenticity – and a longing for something real.
