Black Marine is an award-winning avantgarde composer, pianist, and producer whose work bridges classical tradition and experimental sound. Trained in composition and orchestration in Belgrade, with advanced electro-acoustic and electronic performance studies in Vienna and Amsterdam, she creates bold, cinematic music shaped by both rigorous scholarship and contemporary sonic innovation. She holds a doctorate in music science department for popular music from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, Austria.
About “HAIR KILLER”
“I composed and wrote the lyrics for HAIR KILLER in 2023. The song has evolved over time, including an arrangement for soprano and ensemble performed by NYC’s Composers Concordance. When I met Rad Ray from MX THE AMERICAN, we found the perfect collaboration: the band created their parts, and Melvin contributed rap lyrics. Working with them felt natural—they really understand my musical vision.
The song is inspired by a real event in Belgium while I was touring: someone accidentally pulled my long hair, and I joked, “Hey, Hair Killer!” From there, the story unfolds with a mix of reality and artistic imagination.” Black Marine
