Rexen drops new single and embarks on a tour across China

‘I Can See You’ captures the moment you truly see another person, free of roles, expectations or definitions. It’s a song about the quiet kind of love that lives in friendship, respect and presence.

“Sometimes you lose sight of a person when you place them in the role of a partner. You start to expect, dream and push, and it ends up overshadowing the real need: to simply be yourself and have someone by your side — just as a friend,” says REXEN.

With classical guitar, cello and a double-tracked vocal that nods to Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen, REXEN builds a sound full of warmth and quiet tension. The pull between major and minor gives the track its edge, while the cello adds depth and a cinematic glow.

Tour in China
With past performances at major festivals in Denmark – including Roskilde – REXEN is now set to reach a new milestone with his upcoming tour of China, a country where he has previously been met with great enthusiasm for his music.

“We’ve put together a tour in China to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and China,” says REXEN.

The tour will take him to six cities – among them Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Guangzhou – and it comes with an unexpected personal connection. REXEN recently learned that he is related to the Danish war hero Bernhard Arp Sindberg, who saved thousands of Chinese civilians during the Nanjing Massacre in the Second World War.

“It feels like continuing a bond between Denmark and China in a truly special way,” he says.

A new album on the horizon
‘I Can See You’ is the third taste of the forthcoming album, which will be released in Denmark on 23 January 2026 via Stunt Records. The album was produced by Silas Tinglef (Trentemøller, Kira Skov, Jacob Bellens) at Real World Studios in England and mixed by REXEN’s great childhood hero, John Parish (PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse). The record will be released exclusively on the Chinese market ahead of the band’s arrival in China this November.
