Wormholedeath is proud to announce the signing of Abysmal Rage, the devastating new Death Doom Metal venture forged by multi-instrumentalist Aimeric Lerat / Hangsvart (best known as the mastermind behind the funeral doom entity Abysmal Growls Of Despair). The project’s oppressive debut full-length album, “A House No One Could Live In”, is scheduled for global release on November 06, 2026.
While Abysmal Growls Of Despair traverses the slow, ritualistic realms of funeral doom, drone, and sorrow, Abysmal Rage channels an aggressive, unfiltered sonic assault. Anchored by the crushing weight of 8-string guitars and 5-string bass, the project merges the suffocating doom atmospheres of Slow Transcending Agony-era Ataraxie and Stomach Earth with the violent death metal ferocity of Cannibal Corpse and Immolation.
A Sonic Architecture of Terror
“A House No One Could Live In” rejects technical excess and modern polish in favor of raw, suffocating intensity. Every riff and guttural vocal delivery exists to build a massive atmosphere drenched in human terror, blasphemy, and unfiltered rage.
The album’s theme is further amplified by original artwork and lyrics contributed by artist Ophidia XIII, weaving autobiographical experiences together with bleak spiritual metaphors.
“Nothing sounds polished for the sake of sounding polished. Everything exists to create a massive, oppressive, suffocating atmosphere.”
With a second album already in production focusing on Hangsvart’s animistic beliefs, “A House No One Could Live In” marks the terrifying first chapter in Abysmal Rage’s discography.
To celebrate the announcement, the band has unleashed the crushing title track single alongside an accompanying official music video for the title track “A House No One Could Live In”.
