The melancholic yet emotionally warm guitar ballad and its accompanying music video are out now!
We live in a finely tuned, hyper-perfectionist world – and in the rush, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves. Entering a new musical chapter, Danish singer-songwriter Nicklas Sahl has chosen to slow down, reflecting on his own imperfections and exploring the strength that often lies hidden in our human flaws.
With his new single, ‘Love of My Life’, Sahl delivers a timeless pop ballad that captures both the longing for “the one and only” and the profound loneliness that can accompany the search.
“‘Love of My Life’ is about the dream of finding true love – and just as much about how exhausting, painful, and endlessly lonely the search for it can be,” says Nicklas Sahl. “That feeling of knowing she must be out there somewhere, yet having no idea where to look. Hinge dates, endless nights out, and solo bike rides home through Copenhagen started to feel more and more meaningless. I wrote this song mostly as a way of letting go of the pressure to find ‘the one’ – with the quiet hope that sometimes, it’s only when you let go, that you actually find what you’ve been searching for.”
The song’s message is visually echoed in a beautifully crafted, melancholic music video. Sahl stars alongside acclaimed Danish actress Fanny Bornedal – known for award-winning films and standout roles in Netflix’s Equinox and the internationally acclaimed hit series The Bridge. Together, they portray the tension between connection and solitude in a deeply human way.
Since his breakthrough with multi-platinum hits like ‘Four Walls’, ‘Planets’, and ‘New Eyes’, Nicklas Sahl has become a defining voice in Danish pop – topping charts, selling out major venues, and winning over fans across borders.
‘Love of My Life’ follows the internationally recognized single ‘Trampoline’, which received strong radio play and kicked off a summer of festival performances. Much more is on the horizon from Nicklas Sahl.
