New AUDIOGUST album brings the soundtrack where grunge rock meets indie pop

Seattle-based artist AudioGust presents his third album ‘Falling From Down’, along with the with focus track ‘I Didn’t Hear What You Said’. His most unflinching album yet, ‘Falling From Down’ takes us on a sonic journey through collapse, resilience, and the fragile beauty of survival. Showcasing a hard-edged post-grunge and modern rock sound while retaining the melodic hooks and storytelling that he has become known for, this music combines raw rock intensity with strong melodies and emotionally resonant lyrics.

The solo project of Chris Evans, AudioGust creates hooky anthems for disenchanted optimists. An accomplished songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Evans’ journey started as a guitarist and bassist in various ’80s bands. After a decades-long detour in the software industry, he’s returned to his true passion – writing, recording and releasing loads of music and collaborating with artists worldwide.

“Falling From Down explores the struggles of modern life, from hitting rock bottom to finding small moments of hope and connection. This record is about what it feels like to live through times when you think you’ve already hit bottom, but then it somehow keeps getting worse. The songs trace that cycle — the collapse, the coping, the hope you hold onto anyway, and the moments of beauty you find even in the middle of chaos,” says Chris Evans.

“The phrase ‘falling from down’ captures that feeling when you think things can’t possibly get worse, and then they do. It’s heavy, but it’s also about resilience — sticking it out and finding a way forward even when the bottom keeps dropping.”

‘Falling From Down’ isn’t just an album title — it’s a diagnosis of the times we live in. AudioGust sets the tone with songs that echo the weight of modern life: isolation, exhaustion, news cycles that don’t let us breathe. From the post-grunge opener ‘Isotope’ and searing title track (“Thought we hit bottom, but then we fell more”) to the restless tension of ‘Easier’, the first half of the record lives in the grind of days that keep piling on.

Just as ‘Easier’ imagines a world where not knowing could feel like freedom, the record shifts into a more open, hopeful space. Yet this album refuses to offer neat resolutions. Late-album tracks like ‘No Place For This’ snap us back to reality, where violence and hypocrisy can’t be ignored. And then the closing track, ‘Down By The River’, finds fragile beauty in the chaos, lights flickering against the dark. It’s not triumph, exactly. It’s survival, sung with grit and grace.

Two special guest vocalists also add dimension to this collection. Songs like ‘You At My Door (feat. Liliana Tani)’, ‘Thousand Reasons (feat. Kelsey Grant)’, ‘Twilight Finds Your Eyes’, ‘I Didn’t Hear What You Said’, ‘Nothing Has to Happen’ and ‘Pick Me Up’ explore love, connection, personal growth, and the small victories that make life meaningful.

With powerful, emotionally resonant music, AudioGust blends high-energy performances with deeply personal storytelling. He has released over four dozen songs across multiple albums and EPs, including his debut ‘Walk With Me’, follow-ups ‘Hope from Darkness’ and ‘Love and Pain’, and his second album ‘Here We Go Again’, released earlier this year and exploring the highs and lows of creativity, and the unpredictable nature of inspiration.

Crafting memorable melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, upbeat rhythms and arrangements, AudioGust’s music explores the modern human condition. A finalist in the 2024 USA Songwriting Contest, AudioGust creates a sound vortex imbued with 90’s to 2000’s alt-rock, his guitar-driven music brings in a strong, driving rhythm section, big choruses and even bigger bridge sections.

As of November 7, ‘Falling From Down’ will be available from online music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
