Life in a small town on the edge of the Ruhr region in Germany: characterized by frustration, boredom and a lack of a sense of belonging. A sense of hopelessness paired with a dreary and meaningless cityscape. The debut single “Geisterstadt” (“Ghosttown”) by the band Narkose addresses this state of affairs.
Narkose stands for aggressive, dark and critical german punk since 2023. Being conducted by four friends from the Ruhr area, historically known for its heavy industry and coal mining, the bands unifies influences from hardcore, postpunk and german punk and convinces with intense, exciting liveshows as well as with fast and memorable sound refined by radical, partially overexaggerated lyrics. The debut album „Überleben – Koexistenz“ will be released autumn 2024 on Bretford Records. It contains 13 raw and impetuous tracks with a total playtime of 27 minutes. Furious instrumentals, paired with lyrics between frustration and insanity are defining the style of this record. The album was produced in DIY- manner, enabled by intensive support of various peers from the local hardcore- and punkscene.
