Today, rising Venezuelan-American singer-songwriter and Latin GRAMMY’23 winner JOAQUINA releases her eagerly awaited debut album ‘al romper la burbuja’ (bursting the bubble) offering an intimate window into her journey of life and self-discovery. Written between the ages of 18 and 20, this album marks a pivotal moment in Joaquina’s musical and personal evolution, as she steps into the spotlight with a bold and honest narrative.

Produced entirely by Joaquina alongside multi-GRAMMY®-winning producer Julio Reyes Copello and Latin GRAMMY®-nominated Mixing and Mastering Engineer Robin Reumers, ‘al romper la burbuja’ introduces a distinctive fusion of poetic folk-pop and classic rock en español. The 14-track album reflects a rich tapestry of emotions — from healing and heartbreak to self-empowerment and existential introspection.

Following a year-long string of single releases including “escapar de mi,” “pesimista,” “todo y nada,” “aeropuerto” and “desahogo,” Joaquina continues to showcase her evolving voice. ‘al romper la burbuja’ delves deep into the universal experiences of growing up, dealing with personal change, and confronting the complexities of emotional growth. The album’s focus track, “Capricho,” explores the raw aftermath of betrayal, while “carta (a mí)” captures the delicate balance between reinvention and preserving one’s inner child. Additionally, “no llames lo mío nuestro” touches on the vulnerability of heartbreak, while the viral success of “el Alquimista” offers a heartfelt reflection on spirituality and the world we live in.

For Joaquina, the title of the album ‘al romper la burbuja’ symbolizes the fragile shield we create around ourselves to protect from the harsh realities of the world. The album explores how we react when that protective bubble bursts, and how those moments shape us into the people we are meant to become. This concept encapsulates the essence of Joaquina’s artistry — a dynamic blend of intimate storytelling and sonic exploration, offering an authentic reflection of her coming-of-age years.

About her first album release Joaquina mentions: ‘al romper la burbuja’ is a project that reflects a very transitional stage of my life, a time when I was discovering not only the world around me but also myself. The bubble represents that space we create to protect ourselves, filled with things that bring peace and joy. The process of ‘bursting’ is what I believe to be growing up — shedding the old and embracing new experiences, lessons, and a clearer sense of purpose. I hope this album allows my fans to connect with their own journeys, and to find solace in the safe space I’ve created through this music.”

To celebrate the release, Joaquina hosted an intimate event with an emotional performance in her hometown of Miami where she performed for family, friends, and key industry figures, including media outlets, TV personalities, and leaders from streaming platforms. To close the evening, Jesús López, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula thanked guests for attending the show.

Up next, the singer-songwriter will embark on her ‘al romper la burbuja tour 2025’ with stops in Madrid on February 6th, Barcelona on February 8th and Mexico City on March 20th.
