“I’m crawling out of the black abyss” … NORMUNDY “Abyss”

ᴀʙʏss is the fourth single from NORMUNDY’s upcoming third full-length record. The song is a is a fierce farewell letter to a toxic person. It is about breaking free from a manipulative individual who makes empty promises to get their way. The lyrics describe how detrimental this type of relationship can be to one’s mental and spiritual health, but resolve with a sense of hope.

The track fuses metalcore and electronic elements together with hints of EDM, synthwave, djent, and arena rock to create a unique sonic blend which could simultaneously be the soundtrack to one of the nastiest mosh pits ever witnessed or a jumping dance party. Dual vocalists Joshua D-Day and BVNE add to the song’s dynamics with aggressive singing, punchy rap verses, and searing screams.

The music video is part two of the three-part music video series for NORMUNDY’s third album cycle. This video picks up where the band’s music video for sᴛʀɪᴅᴇ (part one of the series) left off. After the protagonist escapes from the alien creature which inhabits the purple forests of the world where her space ship crash landed, she becomes plagued with nightmares. Awaking in a startled state, the protagonist slowly creeps through the forest. She finds herself drawn into a dark cave which seems to beckon her forth. Once in the cave, the nightmarish visions begin to take hold and her body begins to convulse. As she writhes in her catatonic state, the alien creature appears over her.
