Love and a hint of Prince
‘2’ begins softly and simply but quickly evolves into an optimistic and life-affirming pop gem. With its dynamic structure, sharp breaks, and catchy melody, FÉ crafts a sound that balances 80s inspiration with modern production. While previous singles leaned heavily into synthwave and clear 80s references, ‘2’ introduces a funkier, more playful energy into the duo’s universe.

“It was important for us that the song had a light, playful feel—a sense of childlike naivety and warmth”, says guitarist and producer Victor Ray Salomonsen, who, besides FÉ, has worked with some of Denmark’s biggest names, including Medina and his mother, the legendary singer Sanne Salomonsen.

The song retains threads of both Prince and Robyn but, with its dry, clear vocal production and funky guitars, brings a fresh energy to FÉ’s catalog.

“I wanted to write something sweet and fun but still deeply real. It’s a song that celebrates everything wonderful about new love — the bubbling energy that keeps you up all night, making you feel like anything is possible”, says singer and songwriter Frederikke Bohr.

FÉ: A Duo with Strong Musical Roots
FÉ was formed in 2021 and consists of vocalist and songwriter Frederikke Bohr and guitarist and producer Victor Ray Salomonsen.

Frederikke, a great-grandchild of Niels Bohr, is a Berklee and Rhythmic Music Conservatory graduate. She has supported Jamie Cullum and served as a judge on the Danish rendition of All Together Now.

Victor, son of Sanne Salomonsen and Mats Ronander, has a background in heavy metal as a guitarist and producer. He has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Medina, Søs Fenger, and Hej Matematik.

With six singles blending retro synths and vibrant pop, FÉ has already garnered attention from both Danish and international blogs. Their single ‘Girlfriend’ received significant airplay on the biggest Danish radio station P4. The duo is now finalizing their debut album, which will be released on February 28, 2025.
