ELLIOT PORTRAYS dysfunctional family on new single ‘NOTHING AT ALL’

The beautifully unsettling and melodically rich alt-pop track features the rising Copenhagen talent in a duet with Reveal Party. ‘nothing at all’ is out today, September 26.

“There’s something strangely liberating about writing through discomfort — through the unforgivable,” Elliot shares. “Maybe it’s because it allows you to say what’s never been said, even as you feel a creeping fear of being changed by the story or identifying too closely with it.”

‘nothing at all’ dives into the complex dynamics of a violent father figure – a narrative rooted in real-life experiences shared by the Danish lo-fi pop artist Reveal Party, aka Emily Nyhuus, when she met up with Elliot in Copenhagen. What began as a conversation soon evolved into a collaborative attempt to understand a situation neither of them had experienced directly, but both felt compelled to explore.

“My lyrics are often a kind of escapism — grand, cinematic feelings anchored in personal experience. Emily gave me a new lens: one that sees the intimate, raw, emotive reality of the marks we inherit from those closest to us, and the often-unspoken stories that shape who we are and become. Sometimes, those stories aren’t ones you can simply escape,” Elliot explains.

Following last year’s acclaimed ‘affegato’ EP — a project that, despite its nod to a classic Italian dessert, offered far more grit than sweetness — Elliot continues to evolve his dreamy indie-pop sound. ‘nothing at all’ contrasts ethereal melodies with organic, driving beats, and a soaring chorus that crashes into a wall of overdrive. The single was created in close collaboration with Reveal Party, Elliot’s band and longtime producer Joachim Ersgaard.

Elliot, just 23, is slowly but surely making a name for himself in Danish alternative pop. Earlier this year, CLASH Magazine highlighted his performance at the renowned SPOT Festival 2025 as one of the year’s most memorable.

‘nothing at all’ marks the first single from Elliot’s upcoming EP — with much more to come.
