During the most important week in Latin music, Colombian singer-songwriter ELA TAUBERT took the Latin GRAMMY® by storm making her presence known to all. Today, the emerging star stole the spotlight taking home one of the Latin Recording Academy’s most coveted recognitions, the Best New Artist award. The show’s 25th anniversary celebration was broadcast live from the Kaseya Center in Miami. This incredible milestone further solidifies ELA’s status as the new voice of Latin Pop and artist to look out for in 2025.
“I want to thank God for giving me this dream and my mom for believing in me from day one. Grateful for The Academy, thanks to Universal my team, GTS, to all the nominees, this is yours. Thanks to the people who listen to my music and brought me here and finally thanks to Joe Jonas for performing with me and our song comes out tonight!,” said ELA.
ELA’s Latin GRAMMY® win comes shortly after she debuted a show stopping surprise performance joined by superstar JOE JONAS of their new collaboration, “¿Cómo Pasó? con Joe Jonas,” which was one of the biggest moments of the night. For the performance ELA wore a custom handmade ensemble with detailing of over 4,000 studs designed by Spanish designer Pilar del Campo. The garment perfectly spotlighted the songstresses’ essence, and fused artistry with fashion.
“¿Cómo Pasó? con Joe Jonas” is a remix of ELA’s global smash hit “¿Cómo Pasó?,” which has over 250 million combined streams and recently earned its first platinum certification by the RIAA, delves into the complexities of love and heartbreak. As they harmonize in both English and Spanish, the track becomes a heartfelt anthem that resonates universally, highlighting the struggle of moving from passionate beginnings to painful endings.
On the red carpet ELA stunned with a custom-designed dress by Paola Hinojos which featured the names of all the individuals who have been a fundamental part of her musical career thus far. Similarly, ELA’s dress design also served as a striking reveal of her upcoming album, with its title elegantly embroidered into the fabric.
This week was filled with exciting firsts for ELA. As nominee, she performed at the Latin Recording Academy’s Best New Artist Showcase held in Miami’s Faena Forum on Tuesday night. TAUBERT’s Latin Pop Rock set featured a medley of her song “¿Cómo Pasó?,” and an emotionally charged cover of Jesse & Joy’s classic “¡Corre!.” ELA was also named one of VEVO’s 2025 DSCVR Artists to Watch and landed her very first editorial cover with GALORE magazine, which celebrated her as a leading figure in the dynamic evolution of Latin music.
