Conney Z has been singing since the early age of 4 at the urging of her father, whom is responsible for her love of music. “Music is my drug of choice”, Conney quotes often, along with stating that “without it, I have withdrawals and get very moody, so I need my fix every single day”. With that said, when you show up randomly to her house, you will always hear music blasting inside!
Conney started writing at 11 years old after having many songs in her head for several years. Her first original performance was in the 8 th grade with an acoustic guitarist backing her at a spring choral concert. She received a standing ovation that she says “was so euphoric that I did not hear them call me name for the award I had just won”!
Life threw some serious curveballs in 2010 causing Conney to bow out of the music scene. “I didn’t think I would ever sing again and just stayed depressed. Finally my voice came back, so I retrained it, and came back in 2022, re-recorded the album, had it mastered and released September 2022, with one single, Vent being premiered on Rock Rage Radio that October.” Fully recovered from several cancers, a nasty divorce, and nearly becoming homeless, Conney is now ready to get out there and kick some serious ass on stage. She also has new albums written, that are darker, twisted and full of pain/rage so stay tuned to this upcoming artist! The name, Detoure, is a story in itself that Conney loves to answer live on her socials when asked, so when you interview her, ASK!
2024 is the Year of Detoure with the New Single “My Parade” featuring Blake Scopino!
