“Change” is Disarme’s debut single, taken from an upcoming album on Géographie. The self-taught artist-musician expresses in this track the yearning for change in a world that stifles the senses and dreams. Staying true to the music of her teenage years, Disarme finds her own resonance between the rock of the ’90s/early 2000s and today’s alt-pop-rock. The distorted guitars contrast with the authenticity of a deep, romantic voice, creating the soundtrack for a disillusioned generation in search of ideals.
Disarme (France / Madagascar)
‟To create music that could move the 14-year-old me.”
Disillusionment, lack of meaning, ideals turned upside down within the margins of a world always known in crisis : Disarme tackles themes of generation Y (literally ‘why’).
The Franco-Malagasy artist composed her first album on GarageBand, between Berlin, Paris, and the French countryside; her music is influenced by the sonic legacy of the ’90s, 2000s rock, and contemporary pop— a soundtrack for a bittersweet era where the universal is revealed in the intimate.
In her first single, Change, the self-taught musician amplifies the silent cry of individuality, unnoticeable in the noise of big cities ; yearning for beauty within chaos, with a serene melancholy.
After several performances on the Berlin music scene, she will give her first concert in France as a duo, in an electro-acoustic formation.
