802 CELEBRATES THE MADNESS OF ‘1986’

The alternative Danish hybrid goes back to the future on their unashamedly catchy new single. ‘1986’ is out ahead of Summer ’24 that welcomes 802 to the big stage as they take on the legendary Roskilde Festival!

1986 was a year of wonder and madness! From the awe of Magic Johnson, Top Gun, high kicks sneakers and the release of ‘Master of Puppets’ to the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, the tragedy of the Challenger explosion and the vicious assassination of the Swedish prime minister while The Cold War was a constant threat to World peace.

It was a time of endless possibilities yet fear of an unimaginable chaos that reminisces today – and on the new single by 802!

802 is a fuzz-metallic wall of sound! The trio consists of the renowned electronic producer Andreas Asingh aka Slowolf and the two young dudes, Emil Sørensen and Kristian Holbæk, known from the loud underground metal scene of Denmark. Together, they make classic heavy metal collide with hazy shoegaze on top of ghostly synth pop and unashamedly catchy melodies.

Musical anarchy rules in the World of 802 – a place for headbangers and pop lovers to unite!

Make sure to watch the music video for ‘1986’ in which we meet 802 “back in the day” as they try to get their sound right with a seemingly hopeless record producer.

‘1986’ is the 3rd release by 802 following last years’ ‘My Girl’ and ’22 (Velvet Vampire)’. 802 played their first ever gig at the New Colossus Festival in NYC and this summer they’ll hit the Nordic metal-fest, COPENHELL, as well as the legendary Roskilde Festival!
